J. D. Robb

J.D. Robb is the pen name Nora Roberts uses for her futuristic In Death crime series. Under this name, she moved away from the romance genre she was already famous for and created a long-running police procedural series set in mid-21st-century New York City, which was centered on homicide lieutenant Eve Dallas.

Born Eleanor Marie Robertson in 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, Nora Roberts published her first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, in 1981, and by the mid-1990s, she was already one of the biggest names in romance fiction. She introduced the J.D. Robb name to give her futuristic crime novels a separate identity and a different tone from the books which she published as Nora Roberts.

Writing as J.D. Robb, she has kept the In Death series going for decades, with a long list of novels, novellas, and short stories.

Alongside J.D. Robb, Nora Roberts has also used the names Jill March and Sarah Hardesty for other work in different genres.

    1. De boeken van the in death serie van JD Robb zou geweldig zijn als dit wordt verfilmd. Maar ik denk dat men het niet aan kan om het te verfilmen helaas.

    2. I thought so too after reading the first story! It kind of reminded me of the old TV show “McMillian & Wife” only the character’s jobs are reversed. I’ve read up to #55, but will get the rest soon.

  2. The audio books are the best, when the characters talk, you can actually feel like part of it all. Their voices makes their character seem more alive and actually someone you might enjoy meeting, like Roarke with his sexy brogue. Mavis with her quirky style, Bella’s innocence. Just so real. Keep them coming!!! THANK YOU for giving us such wonderful reading/listening pleasure

  3. I love the JD Robb series in-depth my eyes are not what they used to me so I really enjoyed the audiobooks but a lot of the short stories I can’t find in the library so could you please continue to have them in audio also thank you very much

  10. Why don’t you put of of the short stories in a book that can be purchased. I’ve read all of the in death series but I haven’t been able to find or read all of the short stories.
