I’m surprised you don’t list Peter Grainger’s books. In my opinion, one of the most interesting writer currently working in any genre. His police procedural, the “DI Smith” series that segued into his “Kings Lake Investigation” series is excellent.
The audio book versions have a very talented reader, Gildart Jackson, throughout the entire series.
