J.D. Robb is the pen name Nora Roberts uses for her futuristic In Death crime series. Under this name, she moved away from the romance genre she was already famous for and created a long-running police procedural series set in mid-21st-century New York City, which was centered on homicide lieutenant Eve Dallas.

Born Eleanor Marie Robertson in 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, Nora Roberts published her first novel, Irish Thoroughbred, in 1981, and by the mid-1990s, she was already one of the biggest names in romance fiction. She introduced the J.D. Robb name to give her futuristic crime novels a separate identity and a different tone from the books which she published as Nora Roberts.

Writing as J.D. Robb, she has kept the In Death series going for decades, with a long list of novels, novellas, and short stories.

Alongside J.D. Robb, Nora Roberts has also used the names Jill March and Sarah Hardesty for other work in different genres.

  2. I love, love reading all of the “In death series”. I started reading them when I got out of college decades ago and I am still reading them now that I’m retired. I enjoy reading about all of the characters and I like how each couple has evolved over time. I dont want the series to end. I look forward to Eve and Rourke in their next adventures.

  3. Fell in love with this series from the very first one. Now I own every single one of them including novellas and the latest which I’m listening to now: Encore in Death

  4. I absolutely love these books. I started our reading them not in order and that is okay as the stories are independent of each other. But then I reread them in order because of the permanent characters in the books. Robb’s characters are so real for me. They make me laugh and cry. I have read each story 3 times. I started rereading them during the pandemic in order as the public library would deliver to my house. Bless libraries everywhere . Now I reread them just for pleasure. I actually like rereading my favorite authors while looking for new authors and stories.

  6. Fell in love with these books..and characters….have a great deal in my library and just added another one. I’ve been hooked on this series for some time and love the punches of humour in between the horror, sadness and sex.

  7. I love the In Death series. I use them in my car when I have a long drive. I drive between Texas and Maine twice each year and they make the boring drive on interstate highways pass much faster. It’s easy to turn them off while in big cities or traffic. Hope they keep coming.

Er zit tich een verhaallijn in. De boeken grijpen toch wel terug naar de vorige boeken. Zeker met Mavis en haar hubby en LC Charles die met Louisa een relatie krijgt . Maar ook Webster die met Darcia Chief Olympus een relatie krijgt. Super gave boeken. Complimenten. Vind het ook heel leuk de familie van Roark die nu voorkomt. Mag meer over verteld wo er den
