Who is Jack Swyteck?
Jack Swyteck is the main character of James Grippando’s long-running series. He is a criminal defense attorney based in Miami, Florida, whose works often puts him in the middle of high-profile and legally complex criminal cases.
Throughout the series, Jack represents clients who are accused of serious crime, while facing pressure from the media, law enforcement and prosecutors, and navigates the legal system. The novels focus on his professional work and the different legal and ethical challenges that arises from the cases he takes on.

James Grippando Biography
James Grippando is a New York Times bestselling author of legal thrillers, best known for the long-running Jack Swyteck series.

Born in 1958 in Waukegan, Illinois, he later moved to Florida, where he has spent much of his professional and writing career.
James Grippando received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida before his J.D. from the University of Florida College of Law, where he served as Executive Editor of the Law Review. After law school, he worked as a clerk for Judge Thomas A. Clark of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and later worked as a trial lawyer, including handling death penalty cases.
He published his debut novel, The Pardon, in 1994, introducing the character Jack Swyteck. After the success of his early novels, Grippando transitioned to full-time writing, using his extensive legal background. In addition, he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami School of Law, teaching a course on law and literature.

James Grippando, is one of my favorite authors. I have recommened our library purchase every one of his books. I also have recommended his books to all the fellows browsing the book section at Costco. Even had some of them thank me for telling them about your books. Yes, I usually recommend Grippando, Harlan Coben, John Sandford, Kellerman, Connelly, Baldacci, Margolin etc to all those male and female book browsers at the library and retail stores.

When will there be another “Jack Swyteck” book coming out. I love all your books but I’m really partial to the Swyteck series. I use to be a legal secretary and I enjoy how realistic those books are. I know that you were an attorney and that makes you bring a lot of realization to all your books. Please keep up the great books….
My eye doctor referred James Grippando’s novels to me when he saw me reading my Kindle. He had just purchased Mr. G’s latest novel and thought I might enjoy his books. I printed out a list of all of the books Mr. G. had written – in order. Then I started purchasing and reading…..first Swyteck’s then the others.
One of the great writers in my eyes! He’s ahead of Patterson (1st books great, now, not so much); Lee Child’s Jack Reacher’s novels (awesome books) and Jonathan Kellerman. I have read all of both Mr. and Mrs. Kellermans’ books (also in order on the Kindle, before that, missing some, in paperback) and I continue to read each as they write their books. I think it’s time for another Swyteck novel! I love it when books contain many of the same characters as you start to feel like you “know” them personally.
I’m thinking of starting at the beginning and re-reading the Swyteck novels. I did that with Patterson’s Alex Cross series (the only one’s of Patterson’s I read).

You might like Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club series. Same characters in each book.
After discovering them, I read the Jack Swyteck books in order.It helps keep the love interests in order, etc. I like his characters very much. I also like Michaeal Conelly’s Harry Bosch series, which I think is the best out there. Also, Sue Grafton’s Kinsey Millhone series. Also read James Lee Burke, both his Dave Robicheaux and Hollande series. You won’t find better writers than him.
