Scott Mariani books in order

Scott Mariani is a Scottish thriller author whose work includes the long-running Ben Hope series and three additional series spanning paranormal, police procedural, and historical adventure novels. He has published over 30 books since his 2007 debut.

Born on January 1, 1968, in St Andrews, Scotland, Scott Mariani grew up on the country’s east coast and later studied Modern Languages and Film Studies at Christ Church, University of Oxford. After graduating, he settled in the Oxford area, later moving to West Oxfordshire, and eventually to rural west Wales, where he now lives.

Before becoming a full-time author, he worked as a translator, freelance journalist, English and music teacher, and pistol shooting instructor, experiences that directly influenced the multilingual, globe-trotting aspect of his thrillers. He also performed in a band and ran a burger bar.

His debut novel, The Alchemist’s Secret, published in 2007, launched the Ben Hope series, which has since appeared on the UK Sunday Times bestseller list and been translated into over 25 languages. He is also a nature conservation activist with ties to organizations including The Woodland Trust and the World Wildlife Fund.

  1. I’ve read every Ben Hope books and I’m about to start again from the beginning whilst waiting for the next one to appear.
    I was delighted to find the short stories and novella too which I’ve saved on Kindle to read at the gym whilst cycling. The miles just sail by!
