Book 2 in the Walter Nash series, best read after Nash Falls. Walter is now deep inside the life he was pushed into in the first book, with the story shifting from survival to revenge and infiltration. After turning informant for the FBI against a global criminal empire, Walter Nash has lost everything that mattered to him. The woman responsible is Victoria Steers, and now he is living under the name Dillon Hope with one clear purpose: get close enough to bring her down.
Walter is now far from the gentle and sensitive man of the past, and his strenuous and demanding training has made him stronger, harder, and it turned him into someone who is now capable of things he never imagined he could do. But taking down Steers means more than force. She trusts very few people, so if Walter wants access to her inner circle, he has to make himself useful and convince her he belongs there.
The closer he gets, though, the more complicated it becomes. Despite everything she has done, Walter feels drawn to her. Then he learns something that changes the entire picture and leaves him facing a choice that could destroy what is left of him.
