Mystery Series In Order

Are you ready to start a new mystery series? Or maybe you’ve read a few books in a particular series, but want to catch up with the rest? Check out the all mystery series in order below.

Most mystery authors have written more than one series, so if you are looking for a particular series in order, rather than all the books written by the author, here you will find each mystery and thriller series listed separately.

Usually series have the name of a particular character (e.g. Harry Bosch, Alex Cross series), however, a few others have a theme (e.g. Last Policeman, the Body Farm or Blood on Snow). Where appropriate, I will list the series in order based on the character’s last name.

I am constantly adding lists of series as time permits. If you want to see something that is not listed and it’s your favorite, let me know in the comments section and I will add it.

If you can not find your favorite mystery series here, check out the mystery authors section. If an author has written more than one series, it is listed under the relevant author’s page.

  3. Kayla says:

Karin slaughter has 2 great series that coin side with each other. The grant series has 6 books and the will Trent series has 8 or 9. I couldn’t put them down. Best read in sequence. Her latest book cop town in not part of either series but was still pretty awesom

Although I have managed to get my list, in order I see that Alan Banks is not on your list

  5. Kirsty R says:

The Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor – 14 books at last count and a good fast paced “can’t put them down” read. Would be a good addition to the list.

quite some time ago, I read a 3 book series about 3 prison inmates whom were left in a courthouse holding room during what I think was a power outage; the 3 convicts all talked about revenge and upon release, each of the convicts carried out the revenge plan for each other
it was a thriller/suspense series and an excellent plot…the revenge killings were commited while the suspected killer was imprisoned and no one could figure out how this was playing out
I believe the word “EVIL” is in the title of each of the books
I also believe it was written by a female author
any help in finding this series for me would be greatly appreciated:)

Hi, just joined the site and it is fabulous!! And maybe you an help me out….
I read a few years back, a few books from a series and cant for the life of me remember who wrote them, or even the name of the main character!! But they were AMAZINg and I need to revisit them…..heres what I remember…
Main character was a very charasmatic 6ft half Japanese/half american man…(I think)
He had an English name like Johnny I think
Think most of the stories based in Hong Kong
    He was a detective
    Crime thriller books

    Any info would be appreciated….Carol

The books you are looking for were written by Barry Eisler and they are the John Rain series. Hope this helps!

      • Mystery Sequels says:

Thanks for that Marilyn, I’ve been wracking my brains on it and didn’t come up with an answer to this one. I haven’t read yet Barry Eisler’s books, but they’re on my TBR shelf. No wonder I didn’t know.

    • Sajith says:

The author is Lee Weeks and the book series are Johnny Mann series.
